Abstract

Secondary title: Analysis of the impact of solar radiation and precipitation on the hygrothermal performance of the exterior wall
Secondary abstract: In the thesis, I carried out a one-dimensional analysis of the hygrothermal response of typical examples of external wall construction assemblies, looking at both contact and ventilated façades. The hygrothermal response was simulated using the WUFI software tool, which allows for accurate modelling of a wide range of scenarios. I used two different locations or climatic conditions (Ljubljana, Vogel) and two orientations of the external walls (north, south), focusing on the influence of solar radiation and precipitation (humidity). I simulated the humidification of the external walls in the software tool and based on the results obtained, made comparisons with the values specified in the regulations and standards. I checked whether the moisture content of the structural assemblies, which could affect heat transfer and the occurrence of micro-organisms, exceeds the allowed maximum values set out in TSG - 004 - 2022. The results showed that south-facing external walls have a lower moisture saturation due to the higher solar irradiation, which dries out the structure over time. Through this research, I wanted to identify the structural assemblies with the best performance under different conditions, which would allow the constructor to better design external walls adapted to the specific climatic conditions.
