Secondary title: | Applying a systems approach to logistics and supply chains |
Secondary abstract: | In logistics, a systems approach allows to improve efficiency by treating the whole supply chain as a system. This involves analysing all parts of the logistics system and how they interact to pinpoint areas where optimisation is needed. Despite the difficulties in standardising evaluation due to the diversity of logistics systems, the approach is key to addressing the challenges in modern complex environments. Recommendations include the integration of systems thinking into logistics and the in-depth analysis and implementation of the approach to better address complex situations in the future. A systems approach helps to operate logistics and better organise supply chains and is key to the successful management of modern organisations. |
