Abstract

Diplomska naloga proučuje mehanske lastnosti bukovega lesa, s poudarkom na njegovi upogibni trdnosti, modulu elastičnosti, gostoti in vlažnosti lesa. Z uporabo tritočkovnega upogibnega preizkusa so analizirani manjši preizkušanci bukovega lesa v različnih smereh (radialno in tangencialno), kar omogoča primerjavo mehanskih lastnosti. S preizkusom smo želeli doprinesti k razvoju uporabe bukovega lesa kot konstrukcijskega materiala v slovenskem prostoru, predvsem zaradi naglega razrasta te vrste lesa v zadnjih letih in njenih dobrih togostnih in trdnostnih lastnostih. Da bi uporaba bukovega lesa v gradbeništvu zaživela, pa je potrebno narediti še vrsto preiskav na reprezentativnih vzorcih, kar bi omogočilo razvoj standardov za razvrščanje bukovega lesa v trdnostne razrede.

Secondary title: Determination of bending strength and stiffness of beech timber
Secondary abstract: The thesis examines mechanical propreties of beech wood, with focus on bending strength, modulus of elasticity, density and moisture content of the wood. Using a three-point bending test, smaller samples of beech wood were analyzed in different directions (radial and tangential), allowing for a comparison of mechanical propreties. The aim of the test was to contribute to the development of using beech wood as a structural material in Slovenia, particularly due to the rapid growth of this tree species in recent years. However, for the use of beech wood in construction to flourish, a series of tests on representative samples must be conducted, which would enable the development of standards for grading beech wood into strength classes.
