magistrsko delo
Abstract

This master’s thesis explores a project of adaptive reuse centered around the abandoned Hotel Liburnia. Located in Kraljevica, a town caught between increasing industrialization and the intense tourist development along the Adriatic coast, the community finds itself at a critical juncture in defining its identity. Positioned prominently on the shores of the historically significant port, the hotel offers a unique opportunity to serve as a symbol of transformation for the region, with a focus on environmental initiatives driven by strong public participation. The thesis also delves into the various pressures impacting the environment and fragmenting the community, examines cultural heritage as a means of building social cohesion and empowerment, and highlights the role of public action in fostering a sense of community. |
