Abstract
V diplomskem delu je predstavljena slikanica kot posebna oblika knjige, predvsem kaj jo določa, njena posebnost in kako je mogoče izbrati kakovostno slikanico na določeno tematiko. Teoretični del je namenjen predstavitvi bralne pismenosti; izpostavljeni so trije gradniki bralne pismenosti, in sicer razumevanje koncepta bralnega gradiva (3. gradnik), besedišče (5. gradnik) in razumevanje besedila (7. gradnik). Predstavljene so osnove travnika, pomen le-tega ter travniške živali in rastline. Z metodo multimodalne analize so prikazane izbrane slikanice na temo travnika, to sta leposlovni slikanici Andreje Peklar Buba, Sunčane Škrinjarić Plesna obleka rumenega regrata; literarno-informativna slikanica Lile Prap Žuželčji zakaji ter dve informativni slikanici, Antona Polenca Potok in travnik ter Holgerja Haaga Moja prva knjiga o naravi. V praktičnem delu je predstavljena izvedba dejavnosti v vrtcu in na travniku pri otrocih drugega starostnega obdobja. Travnik je dom za travniške živali in travniške rastline, ki so bile otrokom predstavljene skozi zgodbe in v naravnem okolju.

Selected picture books with a meadow theme in the second age period of kindergarten |
| Secondary abstract: |
The thesis discusses the picture book as a distinct category, particularly what defines it, which special features it comprises and how to go about selecting high-quality picture books on a given topic. The theoretical part addresses reading literacy by focusing on three of its components: understanding the concept of reading material (component 3), vocabulary (component 5) and comprehension (component 7). It illustrates the basic attributes of the meadow, considers its meaning and explores the flora and fauna that inhabit it. The thesis undertakes a multimodal analysis of the selected picture books featuring meadows, these are the literary picture books by Andreja Peklar Buba, Sunčana Škrinjarić's Dancing Dress of a Yellow Dandelion, the literary-informative picture book by Lila Prap, The Reasons for Insects, and two informative picture books by Anton Polenc, The Stream and the Meadow and Holger Haag's My First Book of Nature. The practical part features the activities carried out in the daycare and in the meadow for children of the second age group (ages 3-6). Children learn about the meadow as the home of native animals and plants, presented to them through stories, as well as in the natural environment. |
