Abstract

Rudišče Korošica leži v severnem do severozahodnem delu Slovenije, natančneje v Južnih Karavankah.

Secondary title: geochemical characteristics of sphalerite from Korošica Zn-Pb deposit
Secondary abstract: The Korošica ore deposit is located in the northern to northwestern part of Slovenia, specifically in the Southern Karawanke. It is one of the deposits in the northern Slovenian region that, based on the mineralogical and textural characteristics of the ores, likely belongs to the MVT (Mississippi Valley-Type) deposits. The sphalerites in Korošica can be classified into five types based on their mineral composition and textures, and into three types based on their geochemical characteristics. Detailed analysis using laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-ICP- MS) revealed elevated critical values of germanium (Ge), cadmium (Cd), and thallium (Tl). We also calculated the hydrothermal formation temperatures of the sphalerite, which indicated that the different types of sphalerite precipitated sequentially at low temperatures. The aim of this research is to define the mineral assemblage of the Korošica deposit, propose a paragenetic diagram, and determine the physico- chemical parameters of the mineralizing fluid based on the geochemical composition of the sphalerite, using various analytical methods such as SEM-EDS and LA-ICP- MS.
