Preoblikovanje uporabniškega vmesnika za dodajanje vprašanj v orodju 1KA

Abstract

Pri orodjih za spletno anketiranje je vmesnik za dodajanje vprašanj izredno pomembna funkcionalnost, saj jo v procesu ustvarjanja ankete uporabniki uporabijo velikokrat. Ta vmesnik vsebuje nabor vseh tipov vprašanj, ki jih določeno orodje ponuja. Pri tem so seznami tipov vprašanj lahko podani na enotnem seznamu ali pa razdeljeni v skupine. Pri velikem številu tipov vprašanj na enotnem seznamu se lahko pojavi težava predstavitve celotnega nabora vprašanj na intuitiven in pregleden način, pri prevelikem številu skupin pa je lahko potrebnih preveč dodatnih klikov. V tem okviru je osnovni cilj magistrskega dela izdelava izhodišč za prenovo vmesnika za dodajanje vprašanj v specifičnem okolju orodja za izdelavo spletnih anket 1KA. Uporabili smo dve empirični metodi. Najprej smo sistematično pregledali nabor 22 primerljivih oziroma konkurenčnih orodij, kjer smo identificirali 13 značilnosti, ki opisujejo videz in funkcionalnosti vmesnika. Nato smo izvedli metodo razvrščanja kartončkov, kjer je pet udeležencev razvrščalo in preimenovalo 37 tipov vprašanj. Cilj je bil oblikovanje smiselnih skupin, ki odražajo miselne modele uporabnikov. Pregled orodij je izpostavil številne dobre oblikovne odločitve, metoda razvrščanja kartončkov pa je pokazala, da se trenutna struktura skupin v vmesniku orodja 1KA ne ujema z miselnimi modeli uporabnikov. Na podlagi vseh rezultatov smo pripravili elemente za prenovo vmesnika orodja 1KA, ki vsebujejo 10 skupin in 38 tipov vprašanj.

Secondary title:	Redesigning the user interface for adding questions in the 1KA survey tool
Secondary abstract:	The interface for adding questions is an extremely important functionality in online survey tools, as it is repeatedly used during the survey creation process. This interface contains all question types that a particular tool offers. The question type lists can be grouped or ungrouped. In the case of a large number of question types in an ungrouped and unstructured list, the problem of presenting the whole set of questions in an intuitive way can arise, and in the case of too many groups, the process may require too many additional clicks. In this context, the main objective of the master thesis is to provide a starting point for the redesign of the interface for adding questions in the specific environment of the 1KA online survey tool. Two empirical methods were used. First, we systematically reviewed a set of 22 comparable or competing tools, where we identified 13 characteristics describing the appearance and functionalities of each reviewed interface. Next, we conducted a card sorting method, where five participants sorted and renamed 37 question types. The aim was to create meaningful groupings that reflect the mental models of the users. The review of tools highlighted a number of good design choices, while the card sorting method showed that the current structure of the groups in the 1KA interface does not match the mental models of the users. Based on all the results, we have developed the elements for the 1KA interface redesign plan, which includes 10 groups and 38 question types.
