Abstract

Secondary title: Elementary games for the development of motor skills in volleyball
Secondary abstract: Motor development is the cornerstone of children's holistic development, as it has a significant impact on their physical, social-emotional and cognitive domains. Children in the first and second cycles of primary school are particularly susceptible to the development of basic motor skills during this period. Games stimulate children's creativity, cooperation and learning, and are therefore an effective tool for teaching various sports games, such as mini volleyball. They help children spontaneously develop their sense of the ball, coordination and basic technical skills. The aim of the master's thesis was to collect and present examples of this type of activities for pupils between 6 and 12 years of age. This developmental period, characterised by slower biological maturation, allows exercise to have a more effective impact on physical development and to contribute to the formation of healthy lifestyle habits. Another aim of the thesis was to design a set of learning units based on the activities presented earlier. In the practical part, a sample of twenty children was used to study the impact of these games on the development of basic sports skills, assessing their relevance, difficulty, attractiveness, and effect on motivation. The findings confirm that play-based content represents a flexible and effective approach to teaching that not only develops basic motor skills but also fosters the joy of movement and learning.
