Abstract

Nekatere sonde so pokazale obetavne optične lastnosti, kot so povečan Stokesov premik, prisotnost batokromnega premika in emisijo svetlobe v bližnjem infrardečem območju.

Secondary title: Structure-optical property relationship of selected fluorescent molecules
Secondary abstract: In this thesis, the influence of the structure of selected smart molecular probes was studied that could potentially be used for early detection of Alzheimer's disease. The absorption, emission, and excitation spectra for selected molecules were determined and their molar absorptivities and quantum yields were calculated. Based on the measured and calculated optical properties, the selected molecules were compared and defined as potential probes, if they met the required criteria. The probes are based on the "push-pull" effect, which helps molecules to fluoresce, as they are connected by a π-bridge that enables normal flow of electrons by having an electron-donor group on one side and an electron-acceptor group on the other side. Promising optical properties were exhibited by some of the probes as they showed an increased Stokes shift, the presence of a bathochromic shift, and wavelength values of emitted light within the near-infrared range.
