Abstract
Namen članka je vzpodbuditi argumentirano razpravo o etičnih in družbenih posledicah urejanja človekovega genoma, upoštevaje zanesljive in z dokazi podprte informacije glede uporabe novih tehnologij v daljšem časovnem obdobju.

The impact of ethics on the use of genetically modified organisms |
| Secondary abstract: |
With the goal of utilising new scientific technologies, ethical dilemmas arise, particularly in terms of far-reaching effects on humans, animals, plants and the environment. Special attention should be paid to the effects that are hard to recognize. The reasons for not recognizing the effects can be different (e.g. whether the effect of the use of new technology on humans has not yet been identified; whether the effect of the use of new technology on humans has not yet been recognized, etc.). Such effects on humans, animals and plants represent risks that cannot be (completely) excluded. Nevertheless, I believe that such effects are manageable by continuously analyzing them. Timely recognition of the risks that new technologies pose to humans, animals, plants and the environment necessitates both scientific and non-scientific recognition. The purpose of the article is to encourage a reasoned discussion about ethical and social risks, as well as the consequences that risks have on the (human) genome. Last but not least, especially in the field of tampering with the (human) genome, I want to encourage the reader to think critically about the use of new technologies over a longer period of time. |
