diplomsko delo

Abstract

Secondary title: Social entrepreneurship and demographic trends of social enterprises in Slovenia
Secondary abstract: In this thesis, we focused on the field of social entrepreneurship in Slovenia, where the term »social entrepreneurship« is still not frequently used and its recognition remains relatively low. We first presented the concepts of social entrepreneurship, social enterprise and social entrepreneur, and placed them within the legal, institucional and financial framework. Furthermore, we described the development of social entrepreneurship in Slovenia and compared it with Italy and United Kingdom. As part of the theoretical section, we also included an interview with the director of the Youth centre of Dravinja valley, who presented the concrete operation of a successful Slovenian social enterprise. The empirical part of the thesis focuses on the analysis of demographic factors of social enterprises in Slovenia, emphasizing that these characteristics have not yet been sufficiently researched in our country. We focused on the geographical distribution of enterprises, their activities, the gender structure of legal representatives, legal-organizational forms and growth trends in the period from 2012 to 2025. Through the analysis of five hypotheses, we aim to gain a concrete insight into the characteristics and structure of Slovenian social enterprises and better understand how selected features influence the development of this sector.
