Abstract

Predlagamo konkretne infrastrukturne rešitve, kot so kolesarske steze, pasovi in souporaba prometnih površin, s ciljem izboljšanja prometne varnosti in spodbujanja trajnostne mobilnosti.

Secondary title: Analysis of the cycling network in the municipality of Slovenska Bistrica with a focus on ensuring accessibility within the municipality
Secondary abstract: This thesis investigates the cycling infrastructure in the Municipality of Slovenska Bistrica, with particular emphasis on accessibility for cyclists. Its primary objective is to analyse the current state of cycling facilities and to propose measures for establishing a safe, interconnected, and functional cycling network. The theoretical section outlines the main types of cycling infrastructure, the technical requirements for their planning, and key guidelines for designing networks that ensure safety and efficiency. Particular attention is devoted to the role of cycling connections in the vicinity of schools, kindergartens, and other major traffic generators. The empirical section analyses conditions on state and municipal roads and, drawing on traffic data and spatial characteristics, determines the most appropriate type of cycling infrastructure for individual streets. The results indicate that the current network is inadequate, often fragmented, and unsafe for users. To address these shortcomings, the thesis proposes targeted infrastructural measures – such as cycle tracks, bicycle lanes, and shared traffic lanes – designed to improve road safety and encourage sustainable mobility. Overall, the study demonstrates that the Municipality of Slovenska Bistrica has substantial potential for developing a high-quality cycling network that would significantly enhance accessibility and ensure safer cycling conditions.
