Abstract

Osteoporoza je sistemsko obolenje kosti, za katerega je značilna nizka kostna masa, ki poveča krhkost kosti in s tem tudi dovzetnost za zlome. Vibracija celega telesa je eden izmed postopkov zdravljenja osteoporoze, ki je primeren za osebe, ki niso zmožne izvajati intenzivnih vadb. Namen: Namen pregleda literature je bil analizirati vpliv vibracij celega telesa na kostno gostoto pri ženskah v postmenopavzalnem obdobju. Metode dela: Iskanje literature je potekalo v podatkovnih zbirkah ScienceDirect in PubMed. Rezultati: Analiziranih je bilo sedem raziskav. V eksperimentalni skupini so izvajali vibracije celega telesa, kontrolne skupine niso imele terapije ali pa so prejemale le dodatke vitamina D in kalcija. V štirih raziskavah se je kostna gostota preiskovank eksperiment alne skupine statistično pomembno izboljšala (p < 0,05) v primerjavi s kontrolno skupino. Največje spremembe kostne mase so bile izmerjene na območju ledvene hrbtenice in trohanternične regije, in sicer tudi do 8,8 %. V dveh raziskavah po končnih meritvah v eksperimentalni skupini niso zaznali izboljšanja kostne gostote v primerjavi s kontrolno skupino. Zaključki: Vadba vibracij celega telesa se je pokazala za učinkovito metodo ohranjanja in/ali povečevanja mineralne kostne gostote pri ženskah v postmenopavzalnem obdobju.

Secondary title: Effects of whole body vibration therapy in postmenopausal women
Secondary abstract: Introduction: Osteoporosis is a systemic bone disease characterized by low bone mass, which increases bone fragility and thus susceptibility to fractures. Whole-body vibration is one of the methods for treating osteoporosis that is suitable for people who cannot perform high-intensity exercise. Purpose: The aim of the literature review was to analyse the effect of whole-body vibration on bone density in postmenopausal women. Methods: The literature search was conducted in the ScienceDirect and PubMed databases. Results: Seven studies were analysed. The experimental group received whole-body vibration, while the control group received no therapy or only vitamin D and calcium supplements. In four studies, the bone density of the participants in the experimental group impro ved statistically significantly (p < 0.05) compared to the control group. The greatest changes in bone mass were measured in the lumbar spine and trochanteric region, namely up to 8.8 %. In two studies, no improvement in bone density was observed in the experimental group compared to the control group after the final measurements. Conclusion: Whole-body vibration training has been shown to be an effective method for maintaining and/or increasing bone mineral density in postmenopausal women.
