Abstract
Griseofulvin je naravni metabolit nekaterih gliv, ki se že dalj časa v farmaciji uporablja kot sistemsko protiglivično zdravilo. V zadnjem času se uporabnost griseofulvina in njegovih derivatov testira na različnih področjih, kot na primer protirakavo delovanje, zdravljenje nevrodegenerativnih bolezni, protibakterijsko in imunomodularno delovanje. V okviru svojega diplomskega dela sem sintetiziral ter izoliral 8 derivatov griseofulvina ter jim posnel $^1$H-NMR-, $^{13}$C-NMR-, HRMS- ter IR-spekter ter določil njihov talilni interval.
Griseofulvin je razmeroma kompleksna in strukturno raznolika molekula, kar se odraža v njeni kemijski reaktivnosti. Na podlagi pretvorb iz literature sem poskusil določiti mehanizme različnih pretvorb, ki jih lahko dosežemo na griseofulvinu in jih poskusil povezati z znanimi principi pretvorb iz organske kemije.

Synthesis and characterization of griseofulvin derivatives |

Griseofulvin is a natural metabolite of some species of fungi, which has been used in pharmacy for a long time as a systemic antifungal drug. Recently, the usefulness of griseofulvin and its derivatives has been tested in various fields, such as anticancer activity, treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, antibacterial and immunomodulatory activity. The purpose of my work was to synthesize and characterize various derivatives of griseofulvin, which could be used for further testing. As part of my diploma thesis, I synthesized and isolated 8 derivatives of griseofulvin and recorded their $^1$H-NMR-, $^{13}$C-NMR-, HRMS- and IR-spectrum and determined the melting interval.
Griseofulvin is a relatively complex and diverse molecule, which consequently has diverse chemistry. Based on the conversions from literature, I tried to determine the mechanisms of various conversions that can be achieved on griseofulvin and tried to connect them with the known principles of conversions from organic chemistry. |
