Abstract

V diplomski nalogi sem sintetiziral titanov dioksid (TiO$_2$) in nanj nanesel platino za uporabo v fotokatalitski razgradnji izbranih učinkovin (ibuprofen, diklofenak, sultametoksazol in fenitoin) in barvila Plasmocorinth Β. Titanov dioksid in platina sta bila oba termično obdelana v Bosio komorni peči na 600 °C. Rezultati so pokazali, da dodatek platine bistveno poveča učinkovitost katalizatorja, tako pri razgradnji posameznih spojin kot pri njihovih mešanicah. Najuspešnejša je bila razgradnja ibuprofena in diklofenaka, medtem ko sta se sulfametoksazol in fenitoin izkazala za bolj obstojna. Ugotovili smo, da je titanov dioksid z nanosom platine obetaven material za napredno čiščenje odpadnih voda.

Secondary abstract: In my thesis, I synthesized titanium dioxide (TiO$_2$) and coated it with platinum for use in the photocatalytic degradation of selected compounds (ibuprofen, diclofenac, sulfamethoxazole, and phenytoin) as well as the dye Plasmocorinth B. Both titanium dioxide and platinum were thermally treated in a Bosio chamber furnace at 600 °C. The results showed that the addition of platinum significantly enhances the efficiency of the catalyst, both in the degradation of individual compounds as well as their mixtures. The most successful degradation was observed for ibuprofen and diclofenac, whereas sulfamethoxazole and phenytoin proved to be more persistent. We concluded that titanium dioxide with platinum coating is a promising material for advanced wastewater treatment.
