Abstract

V diplomskem delu smo se lotil raziskovanja zgodovine terorizma in terorizma danes.

Secondary title: THE IMPACT OF TERRORISM ON THE STATE OF THE REPUBLIC OF SLOVENIA AND THE EUROPEAN UNION
Secondary abstract: In our thesis, we set out to research the history of terrorism and terrorism today. There is a lot written on the topic of terrorism, but some authors' writings are based solely on assumptions. The scenes of terrorist acts that we see in the media have become somehow acceptable to society. The turning point in terrorist attacks was certainly the terrorist attack in the United States of America on September 11, 2001, where a new method of carrying out a terrorist act was used, as the terrorists used the means to achieve their goal, i.e. civilian passenger planes, and used them to carry out the largest terrorist attack. In the thesis, we also presented the legal basis that allows law enforcement agencies to sanction individuals or groups that are in any way connected with terrorism. We further presented some terrorist attacks that occurred in Europe, England and the United States of America. An assessment of the current terrorist threat to the Republic of Slovenia was presented. The aim of the thesis will therefore be to study and predict trends in possible future terrorist acts that would affect the security of the Republic of Slovenia and the European Union.
