Secondary abstract: | The article attempts to deal with the problem on what way the argument of care was used at argumentation for women participation in public sphere. Care was used as essentialist argument especially at the time of conflicts in society, when the role of women became even more important with the increased need for caring. The author compares the essentialist concept of care and the modern concept of care, which also emphasizes participation of citizens in politics. Both concepts strive to redefine private and public, but the modern concept of care prevents reification of the care because of its no-normative definition. Author argues her thesis on the basis of articles published between 1900 and 1918. |
