Abstract

To sta največkrat bančni kredit in leasing. V delu diplomskega seminarja smo opisali možne vire financiranja malih in srednje velikih podjetij in predstavili njihove prednosti in slabosti.

Secondary title: Financing growth of small and medium sized enterprises
Secondary abstract: The thesis addresses the sources of funding available in the Slovenian financial market for small and medium-sized enterprises. It is acknowledged that small and medium-sized enterprises represent the most dynamic part of the economy, so their actions are more flexible compared with large companies. The owners of small and medium-sized businesses are for the start-up and upkeep of business operations, forced to acquire financial assets, which are associated with different costs. Obtaining adequate financial resources constitutes one of the biggest obstacles to achieving a successful business enterprise, since the availability of financial resources is critical to enhance entrepreneurship, competitiveness, innovation and growth. Small enterprise financing is characterized mainly by debt financing. Most entrepreneurs are initially financed with their own savings, which is usually not sufficient for long-term growth and development. At this point in small and medium-sized enterprises there are serious challenges of where to obtain adequate financing sources. Due to the unavailability of certain sources of financing for small and medium-sized enterprises, companies often decide for a form of financing, which is accessible. These are most often bank credit and leasing. Until recently, the credit was the most frequently used source of financing. Recently, however, leasing is becoming an interesting form of business financing. Compared with credit, leasing is more flexible, more accessible; more easily granted and require no additional insurance, such as guarantor of the loan and mortgages. The advantage of leasing is also that the percentage of own participation is generally lower than with the credit. The thesis paper examines the possible sources of financing of small and medium-sized enterprises and present their strengths and weaknesses. We were restricted to a particular company, where we presented the sources of funding which the company used and highlighted the benefits of leasing.
