Abstract

V empiričnem delu sem predstavila izračune, tabele in grafične predstavitve izbranih podatkov. Podatki so pridobljeni iz četrte izdaje European Sourcebook of Crime and Criminal Justice Statistics, spletne publikacije Human Development Report 2009 in spletne strani evropskega statističnega urada (Eurostat).

Secondary abstract: In Thesis I have presented knowledge about rape from the existing literature and used chosen data on rape for calculation and verification of selected assumptions. Thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and empirical part. First, I have paid attention to overview the field of rape, problem of its diverse defining, presentation of different theoretical approaches, the cause of underreporting of the crime of rape as well as various “types” of rape. I have presented calculations, tables and graphical representation of selected data within empirical part. The data are obtained from the fourth edition of the European Sourcebook of Crime and Criminal Justice Statistics, an online publication Human Development Report 2009 and the website of the European Statistical Office (Eurostat). In the calculation, I was limited to the last statistical dispensation, which includes data from 2003 to 2007. I have examined how trends increase or decline according to the individual strands, which I formed according to the geographical and socio-political integration. In addition, I have also examined some of the social factors that may be associated with the extent and trends of the number of criminal offenses of a rape. I have checked three basic assumptions, namely whether there is a correlation between the number of rape offenses (per 100,000 inhabitants.) and selected social factors (level of social development, economic development and income inequality). I calculated Spearman’s coefficient correlation for these data.
