Abstract

Katere so prevladujoče smeri slovenskega viktimološkega raziskovanja in katera so najbolj pogosta raziskovalna vprašanja?

Secondary abstract: Which are the prevailing orientations of victimological research in Slovenia and what are the most frequently researched questions? Do they differ from the general global trends in this area? These are the fundamental questions this diploma approaches by analysing a reference sample of articles by Slovene authors in the area of victimology between 1989 and 2010. It utilises the textbook titled Victimology by authors William G. Doerner and Steven P. Lab as a comparative global framework and theoretical base and among others also a compendium by Meško, titled Selected chapters of victimology I, when analysing the Slovene research landscape. After outlining the development of the discipline through time and its contemporary trends and providing a systematic overview of the prevailing areas of victimological practice, it identifies 6 fundamental orientations of Slovene research and finds that they largely coincide with the prevailing contemporary victimological theory and its development through time. It does however distinguish several particularities of Slovene research. In general, the orientation to the fundamental nature of research as opposed to more applicative research is detected. Among the concrete findings it points out the focus to less conventional aspects of victimisation, such as mass victimisation (during wars and by the state), particularities of women victimisation and investigation of the concept of retribution from the moral perspective, scrutinizing its proportionality and consequences for the rule of law.
