diplomsko delo

Abstract

Zajema opis vpliva starosti in nekaterih drugih dejavnikov na uspešno učenje tujih jezikov in poglavje o dvo- in večjezičnosti. Temu sledi primerjava učenja tujih jezikov v Sloveniji in Španiji. CLIL.

Secondary abstract: The diploma thesis with the title "Early Foreign Language Learning from the Viewpoint of Slovene and Spanish Parents" consists of two parts; the theoretical part and the empirical part. The former commences with the child language development and theoretical perspectives on early language learnings. It moves on to examine how age and some other factors affect foreign language learning and describes bilingualism and multilingualism. This is followed by a comparison of how languages are learned in Slovenia and in Spain. The empirical part presents the results of a quantitative questionnaire survey carried out among Slovene and Spanish parents. It aimed to provide a picture of parents' self-evaluation on their foreign language knowledge, their viewpoint on when is the most appropriate age to start learning a foreign language, on how much does learning a foreign language burden a child, on internal and external factors that affect language learning, on bilingual education, on the teacher suitable for teaching an early foreign language learning class and how the latter should be implemented. Finally, it reveals the parent's evaluation on the importance of several factors that affect foreign language learning. The conclusions identified that Spanish parents are more in favour of early language learning, especially regarding advanced teaching approaches like CLIL.
