Abstract
V diplomskem delu sem raziskovala, kako otrok razumeva smrt. Raziskovala sem, kako jo otrok razume, doživlja in kako mu jo razložiti. Poglobila sem se v otrokovo žalovanje in poiskala značilnosti le-tega. Osredotočila sem se na pomoč žalujočemu otroku. Razen pomoči družine in strokovne pomoči sem se posebej poglobila v pomoč, ki jo lahko nudijo vzgojitelji. V ta namen sem povzela nekaj otroške literature, ki vzgojiteljem in staršem lahko dobro služi kot iztočnica za pogovor o tej temi. Pri empiričnem delu diplomskega dela sem v vrtcu Sonček Sv. Jurij ob Ščavnici izvedla skupinski standardizirani intervju z naprej pripravljenimi vprašanji. V njem je sodelovalo 60 otrok, starih od 4 do 6 let. Za tri vzgojiteljice teh otrok sem pripravila kratek anketni vprašalnik o tem, koliko so se s temi otroki pogovarjale o smrti. Pri obdelavi podatkov sem naredila vsebinsko analizo, kategorizacijo odgovorov in jih primerjala glede na starost in spol otrok. Rezultati so pokazali, da obstajajo razlike v razumevanju, doživljanju in komunikaciji o smrti, glede na starost otrok; med spoloma pa ni bilo zaznati značilnih razlik. Iz ankete, ki so ji izpolnile vzgojiteljice intervjuvanih otrok je bilo moč razbrati, da "smrti" ne posvečajo posebne pozornosti, ampak se je dotaknejo le ob bližajočem se prvem novembru.

In my diploma paper I did a research on the topic how a child understands and experiences the death and how to explain the death to a child. I deepened into the child's mourning and found the characteristics of it. I focused on how to help a mourning child. In addition to the family's help and the professional help I was especially interested in how an educator helps. For this purpose I summarized some literature for children that educators and parents can take as a base for talking about the topic. At the empirical part of my diploma paper I interviewed 60 children at the age from 4 to 6 years, at the kindergarten Sonček Sv. Jurij ob Ščavnici. I used the standardized interview for a group, with in advance prepared questions. I also interviewed three of the children's educators by using a questionnaire I prepared to find out how much they were talking with the children about death. At the processing of data I analyzed the content, categorized the answers and compared them according to the age and sex of the child. The results show that there are differences of understanding, experience and communication about death according to the age of the children. According to the sex there are no typical or significant differences. The research shows that the educators don't pay special attention to "death", but talk about it at the upcoming of the All Saints' Day. |
