Secondary title: The attitude of pupils of the Gorenjska region towards healthy nutrition
Secondary abstract: This thesis aims to present the attitude that the primary school children of gorenjska region have to healthy eating nowadays. Regarding the tempo of modern life, of both adults and children, we believe that this is the topical subject in the field of nutrition. 273 students of fifth, seventh and ninth classes of two elementary schools took an active part in the research. We are interested in the connection between the family, school and child regarding the relationship to a healthy diet. The research is meant to establish the views that students of different ages in the gorenjska region have on healthy eating. Based on the objectives and working hypotheses, opinions of students of different ages about their relationship to diet and nutrition were obtained through the survey. We established the differences of nutritional knowledge as regards the age of the surveyed students as well. The results show that girls have a better attitude towards healthy eating habits than boys. Attitudes towards healthy eating habits vary according to the class, seeing that the higher is class the more decreasing is positive attitude to healthy eating. Majority of primary school students believe that they eat healthy food and according to their opinion they know a lot about healthy eating, too. There are also differences in nutritional knowledge according to the class, pupils of the ninth and fifth class showed better knowledge than the pupils of the seventh class. The primary school students believe that it is important to learn about healthy eating at school. Nutritional education in primary school is necessary. We must comply with the cognitive development of pupils of different ages, which facilitates understanding and knowledge transfer in relation to healthy eating.
