Secondary abstract: |
The diploma thesis entitled Encouraging preschool kids to eat fruit and vegetables comprises a theoretical and empirical part. The kindergarten curriculum is presented in the theoretical portion which represents the foundation for planned work in kindergartens. A description of the child's development, learning, play, parental and peer influence on a child's upbringing, importance of nutrition, advice and guidelines for nutrition, work with dolls and children's drawings is also given. The purpose of the thesis is to examine various activities that can be used to encourage children to eat more fruits and vegetables.
The research included the implementation of ten daily projects which included children aged 3 to 4 years. Various activities were carried out during the project having a positive impact on children’s consumption of fruits and vegetables. The project’s effectiveness was also verified through a survey of the children’s parents who actively monitored the activities and assessed their effectiveness. The active participation of children in preparing foods and use of dolls as a motivational factor to encourage them to eat fruits and vegetables is recommended also for use in kindergartens. |
