Secondary title: Drawing and engraving
Secondary abstract: Handmade engraving is a technique, which isn't looked up to anymore, is slowly dying out due to technological advances and peoples need for a quick profit. Even though it is such a "boring" profession, it is still something that we meet in our daily lives and is engraved in our history and holds a big spot in the advances of any civilization. In the theoretical part, I've researched the importance of a drawing in history and nowadays. A drawing has many meanings, but if we look at it from an engraving perspective, which I research in my second work, it is essential in its basis and elements. The main element of drawing is the line, which is the main method of expression in engraving. A child´s first method of expression is drawing, so we can conclude that it is an important part in our development. In the second part of my work, I've researched engraving - its importance through history (its use, tools and techniques). Due to the fact that engraving was at its peak in the renaissance era, when printing developed, I've decided to analys the versatile artist Albrech Dürer and his 4 most known graphics. Not many people are working with engraving today. I have presented 3 new-age Polish engravers, each with his own unique method of making matrices or in other words, engravings. In the practical part, I've presented engravings in stone, as I see and percieve them, and three of my own works. Pedagogical section contains educational preparation and analysis of works created in art workshops.

V drugem delu sem raziskovala gravuro – njen pomen skozi zgodovino, njeno rabo, orodja in tehnike.
