Secondary abstract: |
On the basis of answers from 109 participants (98 class teachers and 9 PE teachers working either in class, gym or after-school classes; 2 participants didn’t state their profession) we assessed the health state of teachers in primary schools in the Zasavje region. The data were acquired by means of a questionnaire for teachers and PE pedagogues. The basis for it was Health-Related Behavioural Manners, a questionnaire designed at CINDI Slovenia. It was slightly adapted by Dr Vesna Štemberger for the needs of the diploma thesis. The basic goals of the research were to find out the following: how many teachers are physically active in their spare time; which doctors did they visit in the last 12 months; how many days were they on a sick leave; how do they estimate their state of health; how well do they take care of their health; how often are they under stress, pressure or feel tense and how do they deal with it; how many of them are smokers; how do they feel about their weight; which diseases and conditions do they face most frequently; what medical problems appear due to the working environment and what is their attitude towards teaching PE. According to the data acquired, 84.4 % of teachers are physically active in their spare time. The majority of teachers, that is 65.4 %, visited the dentist in the last 12 months. On average, the teachers were on a sick leave for 7.67 days. 60.6 % of teachers estimated their state of health as good. In their opinion, 64.8 % of those asked take quite good care of their health. 59.3 % of participants are under stress, pressure or feel tense now and then, and 76.9 % master the problem with some effort. 12.4 % of teachers in the Zasavje region are smokers. 54.6 % of teachers are satisfied with their weight. The prevailing diseases among the participants are allergies (26.6 %), high blood pressure can be detected with 15.6 % and 14.7 % suffer from spinal diseases and injuries. 85.4 % have never felt pain in their elbows. 68.7 % of teachers have a cold from time to time. 42.0 % of teachers feel tired often, and 11.0 % feel tired very often and have eyesight-related problems. 78.9 % of teachers working in primary schools in the Zasavje region like teaching PE. |

Abstract (ePrints): |
V povprečju so bili bolniško odsotni 7,67 dni. |
