School culture and climate in Slovenian secondary schools |
Secondary abstract: |
Researchers of social systems consider organizational culture and climate as important elements of the work environment, which have a great impact on the effectiveness of the individual and the group. The purpose of the study is to examine the organizational culture and climate of the Slovenian secondary schools. The theoretical framework for my research draws from the latest findings on the role and importance of organizational culture and climate in educational institutions. The empirical investigation is focused on the teachers' perception of the school climate in Slovenian secondary schools. I expect differences among teachers’ perception of the school climate which may depend on the type of school, their gender, their age and their working experiences in school. I also expect to confirm the assumption that less positive school climate may be linked with secondary vocational schools (education programmes lasting for two or three years). According to the results of my study I want to encourage teachers and educators to enhance school culture and climate since research has shown that providing a positive and supportive school climate for students is of vital importance. |

Abstract (ePrints): |
Po proučevanih pojavih izstopajo v smer manj optimalne kulture in klime srednje šole s šolsko manj uspešno populacijo (3-letni poklicni programi in 2-letni nižji poklicni programi). |
