Secondary title: Use of computer in teaching of mathematics in the third grade of primary school
Secondary abstract: In this thesis the author has combined theoretical facts of using ICT in lessons, motivation in lessons and findings of practical research carried out in a 3rd grade of primary school. The first part of the thesis is merely theoretical, describing the definition of motivation and means of motivation. The author was primarily interested in playing activities and computer activities within the lessons. In the following part of the thesis also traditional and educational games are introduced. The focus is mainly on those which are classified in the information and communication technology (ICT). The second part is empirical and shows results of a survey in which 75 3rd grade pupils of a nine-year primary school took part. The results are obtained by means of a questionnaire. This practical research has proved that including a computer in lessons affects the students (and, indirectly, mathematics) in a positive way. The author found that pupils in class enjoyed working with computers and would like to spend more time in the computer classroom. This is very positive because we are in an era of computer science and any contact with a computer can make learning and working easier in further education.
