Secondary title: Health state of primary teachers in central Slovenia
Secondary abstract: In the theoretical part of the dissertation I discuss the health of primary school teachers in general. The research goals were: find out how much teachers do sports in their free time, which are teachers' most common diseases and injuries, check their satisfaction with the working environment and establish what their opinion on teaching physical education is. 121 primary school teachers from 20 primary schools in the Central Slovenia took part in the research. The research was quantitatively non-experimental. The data was gathered with the help of a questionnaire divided into three parts: general information, health problems, and injuries. I have found out that 93% of the respondents do sports, averagely for about 4.8 hours per week. They visit their physician most often in the winter time. Their most common disease is allergy. The most common problems stemming from their work are hoarseness and cold, followed by periodic exhaustion. Injuries were rare among the respondents, the most common were bruises. Most teachers have injured themselves in their free time. 80% of them like to teach physical education, and half of them find P.E. to be tiresome at times. The same share of the respondents would not leave the teaching of P.E. to sports teachers. They find noise to be the most disturbing on the hallways, where they would also prefer to have more light.

Cilji raziskave so bili: ugotoviti, koliko se učitelji v prostem času ukvarjajo s športom, katere so najpogostejše bolezni in poškodbe razrednih učiteljev, preveriti njihovo zadovoljstvo z delovnim okoljem in ugotoviti, kakšno je mnenje razrednih učiteljev o vodenju športne vzgoje.
