Secondary abstract:	The main aim of this work is to inform general public about the issue of snow avalanches in Slovenia. Among all natural catastrophes, this one claims most human lives. Therefore I mainly focused on the circumstances leading to this problem and analyse the possibilities of the prevention of such natural hazards. Abstract (ePrints):	Končni cilj diplomske naloge je informiranje širše javnosti o problematiki snežnih plazov v Sloveniji. Med vsemi naravnimi nesrečami slednja zahteva največ človeških življenj, zato sem se v nadaljevanju naloge osredotočil predvsem na vzroke nastanka problema in analiziral možnosti omejevanja tveganj pred tovrstnimi naravnimi nesrečami. Naloga zajema pripravo pregledne snovi na temo snežnih plazov in pregled dejanske stopnje ogroženosti slovenskega površja. Zbrano gradivo je vnešeno v relacijsko bazo, ki omogoča raširitev spletnega učnega pripomočka N.I.T., razvitega leta 2008 na UL FGG.
