Limit load of bolted connections |
Secondary abstract: |
The present work focuses on definition of limit resistance of nine examples of bolted connections, which are connected with regular bolts without prestressing. We chose these examples in a way, that every example has a different way structural collision. First part of the calculation procedure contains design controls that are required for bolted connections according to EN 1993-1-8. According to results of all design controls, we defined the limit resistance for all examples. In the second part of the calculation procedure we made numerical analysis for every example of bolted connections. We did that with the computer program AceFEM, which is based on finite element method, and it is designed to solve multi-physic problems. We used the bilinear elastic-plastic material model without hardening. Numerial analysis is based on Newton iteration method and gives us results(limit force Fu, Misses stress, acummulated plastic deformation...) in dependence of dispacement u. We also observed the course of stress and strains during the analysis and at the end. We made eight versions of analysis for every example in which we changed different parameters and observed their influence on results. We used diffent density of finite element mesh, plane stress (PS), plane strain (PE) and function SmoothMesh that creates better mesh of finite elements. |
