Secondary title: Modelling and analysis of a wall-frame structure according to EC8
Secondary abstract: In order to harmonize the standards for design of structures in Europe the family of Eurocode standards has been developed. Eurocode 8 (EC8) represents the standard for design of earthquake resistant structures. This standard has been translated and will soon be adopted as Slovenian standard SIST EN 1998-1. The application of this standard for analysis of a reinforced concrete frame-wall building was the main goal of this diploma work. We focused on chapters on structural analysis. The analyses were performed by the computer program ETABS. In the structural models prepared and analysed with ETABS we followed the EC8 requirements and used different methods included in the standard. The frame of the analyzed frame-wall building contributed more than 15% to building’s stiffness and according to that we cannot design the frame as a secondary seismic member. We also found out that the lateral force method of analysis is not appropriate for the investigated building because it gives very different results from the modal response spectrum analysis. The reason is in non-uniform distribution of stiffness between stories and in the effect of higher modes. It turned out that defining the torsional radius, secondary seismic members and torsional moments caused some problems. Other than that the part of EC8, applied in our work, seems to be quite clear and simple. Computer program ETABS, which was used for analyzing the building, proved to be contemporary and user-friendly.

Abstract (ePrints): Za poenotenje predpisov projektiranja gradbenih konstrukcij se je v evropskih državah začel uveljavljati evropski standard za projektiranje konstrukcij (Evrokod). Del tega standarda (EN 1998 ali EC8), ki se nanaša na projektiranje potresnoodpornih konstrukcij, bo v prevodu kmalu privzet tudi kot slovenski standard SIST EN 1998-1. Glavni cilj diplomske naloge je bil uporaba tega standarda na konkretnem primeru. Pri tem je bil poudarek na poglavju o projektiranju stavb ter potresnih vplivih. Omejili smo se le na določevanje notranjih statičnih količin ter pomikov zaradi potresne obtežbe. V okviru diplomske naloge smo tudi spoznavali računalniški program ETABS, ki je namenjen za analizo konstrukcij stavb. V računskih modelih konstrukcije, ki smo jih naredili z ETABSom, smo upoštevali določila EC8 in modele obravnavali z različnimi metodami analize, ki jih predpisuje standard. Konkretni primer diplomske naloge je bila stenasto – okvirna konstrukcija. Izkazalo se je, da okvirji prispevajo k togosti konstrukcije več kot 15 %, zato jih ne smemo upoštevati kot sekundarne elemente. Ugotovili smo tudi, da za obravnavano konstrukcijo metoda z vodoravnimi silami ni ustrezna, saj daje precej drugačne rezultate od modalne analize. Do tega najbrž pride zaradi sprememb togosti v posameznih etažah ter zaradi vpliva višjih nihajnih oblik. Izkazalo se je, da v standardu Evrokod 8 obstajajo nekatere nejasnosti v zvezi z določevanjem torzijskega polmera, sekundarnih elementov in dodatnega torzijskega momenta za upoštevanje slučajne torzije. Drugače je EC8 v delu, ki smo ga obravnavali, dokaj jasen in enostaven za uporabo. Računalniški program ETABS, ki smo ga uporabljali, je sodoben in za uporabnika prijazen.
