Hydrologic analysis of the Kroparica torrent and its tributaries |
Secondary abstract: |
The aim of the analysis was a more in-depth analysis of the project that I helped to make during my student work at PUH in Ljubljana (a company that does stream regulations). I present the conclusions of the project and than proceed to asses the accuracy of some of the methods employed in torrent regulation that has been developed and used for some time in practice and compare them with more modern methods using the HEC-HMS program. For the region of Kropa I have made a hydrologic analysis of high waters where I have determined the theoretical discharge and flood waves with return period of 10, 50 and 100 years. I determined the difference in the discharge for different intensity positions and regularly distributed rainfall. I than compared the peak outflows with the high waters with return periods of 20 and 100 years calculated with the Kresnik method. The hydrologic analysis consists of hydrologic description of the area, natural geographic characteristics of the basin, statistic rainfall analysis for the Lesce weather station for the period from 1981 to 2008, analysis of the strorm in September 2007 and the flooding that followed in Kropa. The hydrologic model was done in the HEC-HMS program (version 3.4), with the Snyder sintetis hydrogram by the Riverside county method. |

Abstract (ePrints): |
Za hudourniško območje Kroparice sem izdelal hidrološko analizo visokih voda, v kateri sem določil teoretične visokovodne valove z 10, 50 in 100- letno povratno dobo. |
