Secondary title: Outline scheme for the drainage and treatment of waste water for the villages of Račice and Starod
Secondary abstract: The diploma thesis deals with the problem of drainage and treatment of waste water for the villages of Raice and Starod. To solve the problem, two variants have been planned with gravitational drainage and vacuum drainage of waste water to a treatment plant. Each variant has four more options in which I enumerated the possible solutions for the sewer systems and the treatment of waste water (location and capacity of treatment plants). I have prepared presentations of the course of the pipelines and the expected locations for the key structures for each option. I have also given a few theoretical elements with a short explanation and description of the basic characteristics and operation for both methods of the waste water drainage. In the gravitational system, the designed pipes have a diameter of 200 mm for which I have proved with the Colebrook equation that they suffice for the expected discharge at 50% filling. The discharge characteristics are within boundaries that are expected for a free surface flow. I have also designed a house pumping station and the capacity of the treatment plant. For the vacuum system I have designed pipes with a diameter of 100 mm for which I have also proved with the Colebrook equation that they suffice for the expected discharge at 100% fill. Due the lack of data, I haven’t designed a vacuum station. For both variants and the belonging options I have also made a comprehensive financial analysis including the investment and operational costs together with deprecation. The results of the analysis are presented in tabular form and graphically. On the basis of the financial analysis (total costs after 50 years of operation) and technical analysis (how demanding the execution and operation or maintenance is) I have chosen the most appropriate solution.

Abstract (ePrints): Diplomsko delo obravnava problem odvajanja in čiščenja odpadnih voda za naselji Račice in Starod.
