Secondary title: Comparison of external knowledge assesments in the field of physics
Secondary abstract: Three external knowledge assessments in the field of physics are discussed in this diploma thesis, one national (NPZ) and two international surveys (TIMSS and PISA). The main purpose of the study was to determine differences and similarities of the surveys, to determine what individual survey say about the knowledge of physics, and to identify the pros and cons of the surveys. In the introductory part of the thesis the basic statistics and research results of all three surveys are presented for the students of the same generation. The data of these surveys were obtained from original publications and institutions that perform the studies. The data were statistically analysed according to the methodologies that are used in individual surveys. Comparable test questions were selected and compared. The comparable test questions covered the fields of sound, light and density. The study shows that the results referring to sound and density test questions are complementary, whereas the results of the test questions referring to light are duplicated. This also suggests that surveys themselves are complementary. Since TIMSS and NPZ assess the knowledge according to curriculum, TIMSS and NPZ surveys measure similar knowledge. On the other hand, PISA results are not directly comparable to TIMSS and NPZ results, because in PISA interdisciplinary knowledge is stressed more than curricular.

Abstract (ePrints): V diplomskem delu so obravnavana tri eksterna preverjanja znanja na področju fizike: eno nacionalno; NPZ in dve mednarodni; TIMSS ter PISA.
