Secondary title: Knowing about domestic fowl in kindergarten
Secondary abstract: The diploma thesis is about cocks, hens and chicken. Above all, talk about their characteristics, because I wanted to bring these animals to children who live in the city and have no chance to know more about them. I wanted to bring these animals closer to children, because they are an important part of our lives, part of our food chain. The diploma thesis includes theory and empirical work. In the first part of the theoretical work, I describe the characteristics of birds, because hen is one of the birds. The second part of the theoretical work tells of the domestic fowl. The first domestic fowl originated from Asia. They are important for their meat and eggs, which contain high biological value. I also describe the basic hen breeds in Slovenia. I also include parts of the body, after which we very quickly recognize hen / rooster. Hen family include chicken too, so I described the hatching chicken. In the empirical part I'm using the survey questionnaire to determine what children know about domestic fowl and cocks before the activities and do the same survey questionnaire after the activities. My intention was to expand knowledge through the activities. In the first part of my research were involved 100 children, in the second I only focus on one group of 24 children. The children were aged 4-5 years. The results that I have received I introduced with the graphs. I have also interpreted the results. Activities were carried out by the method of constructivism, because I wanted children to participate fully in identifying and acquiring new knowledge of the domestic fowl and cocks. I’m also aware that I am learning myself and I gave children the opportunity to teach me new things unconsciously. All the activities that I have taken, I described and added a few pictures that have occurred during the activities. At the end of the thesis I wrote the decision, and added a few attachments. In attachments: riddles, poem and tales of domestic fowl and cocks.

Abstract (ePrints): Diplomska naloga govori o petelinu, kokoši in piščančku. V prilogi so: uganki, pesmica in pravljice o kokoši in petelinu.
