Geodetic services for certification of athletics stadiums |
Secondary abstract: |
In the BA dissertation we describe geodetic services necessary to issue the certificate for the suitability of an athletics stadium. The majority of the surveys were carried out by using the surveying instrument Leica 803 power, although some smaller distances were surveyed with a manual measuring tape. Only two standing points could be positioned for the instruments in the entire stadium and we established their coordinates in the local coordinate system. From the standing points we recorded the locations of the lines, which defined the starts of individual track events, the take-over zones, the hurdle positions, the break lines, the width of the lanes and the finish line, which is the same for all track events. Besides the indications it was also necessary to record the points in order to calculate the gradients of the runway and all landing sectors. All these geodetic services were carried out in the Poljane stadium in Maribor, which has obtained a valid certificate as the first stadium in Slovenia. The Poljane stadium thus became the only stadium in Slovenia to be able to host international competitions under the auspices of the International Association of Athletics Federations. |

Abstract (ePrints): |
