Development of social pedagogy in Slovenia |

This diploma thesis wants to point out the situation of social pedagogy in Slovenia. Furthermore, the theoretical part is more concerned with the definition of social pedagogy. Within this part, I try to illustrate the development of social pedagogy and to introduce the conceptual foundation of socio-pedagogical work. Moreover, the section characterizes the fields of activity of social pedagogues and the expected know-how of a social pedagogue. The empirical part reproduces the results of a qualitative research that analyzes conversations with social pedagogues who are employed at different areas of work. In addition, I asked persons who were still in training and others who had already some work experience to give their opinion of social pedagogy, social pedagogues and the syllabus ²Social Pedagogy². The results of the analysis have shown features of the university course ²Social Pedagogy² and they urgently call for the evaluation of this course. One of my key conclusions is that a social pedagogue can work in different fields of activity especially where it is possible to work with people. Besides, social pedagogues work with different concepts of socio-pedagogical work. For them, the concern for themselves and participation in different forms of advanced training is necessary. Finally, social pedagogy as a subject could develop in different work fields of social pedagogues. However, it is often not recognizable in a wider area. |

Diplomsko delo skuša predstaviti položaj socialne pedagogike v Sloveniji, kjer v teoretičnem delu podrobneje opredelim socialno pedagogiko, prikažem razvoj socialne pedagogike, predstavim konceptualne osnove socialnopedagoškega dela, opišem dosedanja področja delovanja socialnih pedagogov in predstavim pričakovani kompetenčni profil socialnih pedagogov. Empirični del podaja rezultate kvalitativne raziskave, v kateri sem izvedla pogovore s socialnimi pedagogi, ki so zaposleni na različnih področjih. Predstavljam izobraževalne in poklicne poti intervjuvanih oseb in njihova mnenja o socialni pedagogiki, socialnih pedagogih in študijskem programu Socialna pedagogika. Rezultati analize opravljenih intervjujev so pokazali značilnosti študijskega programa Socialna pedagogika ter opozorili na nujnost evalvacije študijskega programa. Ene izmed ključnih ugotovitev so, da se socialni pedagog lahko zaposluje na različnih področjih, ki se navezuje na delo z ljudmi, da socialne pedagoge pri delu vodijo različni koncepti socialnopedagoškega delovanja in da je za delovanje socialnega pedagoga pomembna skrb zase in vključenost v različne oblike dodatnih izobraževanj. Socialna pedagogika kot stroka bi se lahko razvijala v področja, kjer socialni pedagogi delujejo, a ne pogosto, ter v smeri večje prepoznavnosti v širšem prostoru. |
