Development possibilities of social entrepreneurship in Slovenia |
Secondary abstract: |
Social changes, unemployment, individualization, economic crisis, unreasonable consumerism, loneliness, uncertainty etc. are all characteristics of modern time. In response to this, new world views are being formed. People are turning to the values of community, relations, neighborly help, ecology and so on. More and more people are becoming supporters of social economy because they view it as an alternative to the capitalist social system.
Unemployment has numerous negative consequences for individuals, for society as a whole, as well as for the country, and also forces us to search for new forms of employment. Numerous vulnerable groups who, because of various problems or restrictions often do not manage well on the job market, are often unsuccessful at finding a job. Thus, we must seek new possibilities and forms of help for them.
The main part of the thesis focuses on social entrepreneurship which is becoming more and more common also in Slovenia as well. The recent Social Entrepreneurship Act, which has been in use since the beginning of 2012 and has made it possible to attain the status of social companies, is a decisive step towards better conditions for the development of social entrepreneurship in Slovenia.
The practical part of the thesis looks at some of the projects designed according to the principles of social entrepreneurship and co-financed with Public tender for stimulating the development of social entrepreneurship. It attempts to determine today’s possibilities for successfully founding and running a social enterprise. These projects faced numerous problems, among them unsupportive environments. However, even after the period of co-financing, most of them still continue their work. The Slovenian government still has much work to do (e.g. the adoption of relevant official documents) to ensure that social entrepreneurship has better conditions in which to develop. |

Abstract (ePrints): |
Družbene spremembe, brezposelnost, individualizacija, gospodarska kriza, nerazumno potrošništvo, osamljenost, negotovost itd. - vse to zaznamuje današnji čas.
