Secondary title: A comparative study of energy consumption for lighting according to prEN 15193-1
Secondary abstract: The purpose of the diploma work was to put to the test the prEN 15193-1 draft standard. The draft standard was thus examined in its original English version, with only the main requirements being translated into Slovene. In addition to the prEN 15193-1 draft standard, I have also studied the CPD 89/106/EEC and EPBD 2002/91/EC directives, on whose basis this particular draft standard was developed. Considering the requirements of the draft standard, I developed an Excel computer program, which calculates energy consumption for lighting in a given building. The program has the options of calculating monthly or annual consumption. The computer program was tested on three different types of buildings with the purpose of establishing the appropriateness of the prEN 15193-1 draft standard requirements. The analysis of these calculations has led to the conclusion that the prEN 15193-1 draft standard is not entirely accurate and can be used primarily to estimate lighting energy consumption. The prEN 15193-1 draft standard should therefore be adjusted and its anomalies resolved. Above all, the draft standard should consider the same level of all incoming data, this being the only means of achieving sufficiently accurate results.
