Accesability analysis of public services by public transportation network |
Secondary abstract: |
The present work focuses on accessability of public services by public transportation network. We analysed the accessability in municipalities in the area of town Maribor. With the bus timetable database and house number database we were able to analyse the residents' accessability using two rival models: nearest neighbourhood modeled by Voronoi diagram limited by acceptable walking distance and nearest neighbourhood modeled by service area within road network. The first model is based on the use of Euclidean distances between the residents and bus stops, while the second model uses distances travelled in the road network. We compared and selected the service area model as the better model, because it represents a more accurate approach to modeling of space to display areas and degree of accessibility. The results have shown that 80,2 % of residents in the analysed muncipalities have access to public services by public transportation. The rest 19,8 % of residents live outside of these service areas of bus stops network, so they are too far f |
