Secondary title: Seismic analyis of steel high-rise building
Secondary abstract: Theme of my graduation thesis is analysis of steel high-rise building which is 70m high and has a shape of ellipse. According to demands of ground plan and the height of building we choose three different constructional designs for load transfer. At the beggining we dimensioned all three constructions for the ultimate and serviceability limit state. Then we dimensioned all three constructions for the seismic limit state with the method of modal analysis. For those building which had been already dimensioned we made nonlinear static-pushover analysis. We interested mainly in development of plastic colapse mechanism, diplacement at the elastic limit state and displacement on the top floor of building which is equal to displacement which represents demands of seismic resistance. From the static nonlinear analysis we get capacity curves which we analise with the metod of N2-analysis. We realise how the building behave in the condition of seismic load. Special emphasis we gave to the nonlinear time history analysis. The analysis was made for seven different records of accellerations for ground motion, which we scale so that they were suitable to the demands of EN 1998-1. Result was the mean value (diplacement, internal force, plastic deformation) of maximum values for every of 7 analysis. Our interest was mainly in maximum displacement on the top, maximum story displacement, maximum plastic deformations and maximum internal forces. In the last section of the graduation thesis we made comparison betwen all three constructions and all analysis that we use. We made comparison between results of different analysis. We give also opinion how suitable is each analysis for high rise buildings.
