Secondary title: Use of spatial modelling by designing and construction of roads and railways
Secondary abstract: This thesis deals with feasibility and efficaciousness of the programs made for roadway planning for the requirements of design and surveying of the construction works. The study is based on the programs Plateia and Autodesk Civil 3D, which are most widely used among the project engineers. The design of the highway AC Pluska-Ponikve was chosen, as there were being carried out earthworks during our study. The design documentation PGD was adopted for the input data, using all essential information of the designed roadway. On the basis of these information the project was made in the programs Plateia and Civil 3D. A simple volume model of the roadway was made, and on the basis of data acquired each month by surveyors on the terrain, also the animation of the earthwork performance was carried out. The usefulness of these programs was ascertained not only in designing but also in the phase of planning and construction works as well as in the whole life cycle of the project. The visualization of the progress of construction works on the project enables more efficacious communication between the owner and constructor. This process also enables quicker data extraction, resulting in better project management. The modelling of the projects in the phase of designing can, on the other hand, contribute to more optimized construction in future. However, the wide usage of the roadway modelling shall not be possible without further development of the software and appropriate program education of the engineers.

Abstract (ePrints): V diplomski nalogi so obravnavane koristi uporabe projektantskih programov za potrebe načrtovanja in spremljanja izvajalskih del. Za naše delo smo uporabili programa Plateia in Autodesk Civil 3D, ki sta med projektanti najbolj uporabljana. Izbrali smo projekt AC Pluska- Ponikve, kjer so v času naše študije potekala zemeljska dela. Za vhodne podatke smo uporabili projektno dokumentacijo PGD, iz katere smo črpali vse potrebne informacije o načrtovani prometnici in na podlagi katerih smo izdelali projekt v programih Plateia in Civil 3D. Izdelali smo preprost prostorski model prometnice, ter s podatki, pridobljenimi na terenu vsak mesec s strani geodetov, izdelali tudi animacijo poteka zemeljskih del. Ugotovili smo, da obstajajo koristi uporabe teh programov, ne samo pri projektiranju, temveč tudi v fazi planiranja in izvedbe del ter nasploh v celotnem življenjskem ciklu projekta. Vizualizacija napredka del na projektu omogoča boljšo komunikacijo med nadzorom in izvajalcem. Programi omogočajo večjo avtomatizacijo pridobivanja podatkov o količinah materialov, potrebnih za izgradnjo prometnice, kar izvajalcu del omogoča večjo preglednost nad deli in evidenco izvedenih in neizvedenih del. Modeliranje projektov v fazi načrtovanja tako lahko v bodoče prispeva k bolj optimizirani gradnji ter večji preglednosti nad detajli projekta. Za razširjeno uporabo modeliranja prometnic pa je potreben nadaljnji razvoj programske opreme, ki bi omogočala avtomatizirano izdelavo detajlnih modelov projekta, ter večji poudarek na računalniškem in programskem izobraževanju inženirjev.
