Secondary title: Sustainable approach to the retrofit of masonry buildings
Secondary abstract: The scope of this work is to analyze provision of adequate conditions for heat and moisture transfer when applying strengthening measures. A sustainable approach to the retrofit of masonry buildings is presented as a result. In the beginning the general, material, and technical reasons for retrofit are explained. The process of retrofit in terms of decision- making steps, legislation issues, and other factors is presented next. Further on, measures for reduction of energy consumption, and damp-proofing treatment methods are presented. Problems and critical points of strengthening measures, and their impact on heat and moisture transfer are discussed. The influence of systematic grouting of stone masonry wall on building physics is analysed calculatively. The sustainable approach is grounded using sustainable factors and analysing the financial viability of a concurrent implementation of structural strengthening, and reduction of energy consumption. The fact is that a simultaneous implementation can save more than 40 % of the costs compared to phased or sequential actions. The sustainable approach is illustrated on cases of selected strengthening measures, where - after initial careful planning and subsequent implementation steps - quality check, maintenance, and eventual remedial actions are proposed. The presented frequently used strengthening measures can be easily adapted to a variety of actions using integral planning rules. In the sustainable approach context new measures need to be developed, which will be in tune with sustainable development principles. It would be advisable to adapt technical regulations from the building construction field, as well.

Abstract (ePrints): Namen dela je analizirati zagotavljanje ustreznih pogojev prenosa toplote in vlage pri aplikaciji utrditvenih ukrepov ter na podlagi ugotovitev predstaviti ustrezen trajnostni pristop pri utrditvi zidanih zgradb. Na začetku so predstavljeni splošni in materialno-tehnični vzroki za rekonstrukcijo. Nato je predstavljen potek rekonstrukcije v smislu odločanja, zakonodaje in drugih dejavnikov. Navedeni so tudi ukrepi za energetsko sanacijo in ukrepi za sanacijo vlage. V nadaljevanju so nato analizirani problemi ter izpostavljene kritične točke pri usklajevanju zahtev konstrukcijske utrditve z zahtevami glede prenosa toplote in vlage. Podrobneje je računsko analiziran vpliv sistematičnega injektiranja kamnitega zidu na gradbeno fizikalne razmere. Trajnostni pristop je argumentiran s trajnostnimi dejavniki in analizo finančne upravičenosti sočasne izvedbe ukrepov za konstrukcijsko utrditev in energetsko sanacijo. Dejstvo je, da sočasnost izvedbe lahko prihrani tudi več kot 40 % stroškov glede na fazno izvedbo del. Trajnostni pristop je predstavljen na izbranih utrditvenih ukrepih, kjer po skrbnem načrtovanju in izvedbi ukrepa predlaga protokol kontrolnih pregledov, vzdrževalnih in po potrebi sanacijskih del. Pristop je predstavljen na konkretnih pogosto uporabljanih ukrepih, z interdisciplinarnostjo pa ga je možno prirediti za poljuben utrditveni ukrep. V okviru trajnostnega pristopa je potreben razvoj novih utrditvenih ukrepov, ki bodo v sozvočju s trajnostnim razvojem. Priporočljivo bo prilagoditi tehnično regulativo, ki ureja področje graditve.
