Secondary title: Hydraulic analysis of water supply system Šmartno ob Paki
Secondary abstract: The subject of the Graduation Project is the hydraulics of the Šmartno ob Paki water supply system. The primary focus is on the analysis of pressure and flow conditions using the appropriate software tools, and the optimisation of the existing situation. The Graduation Project features a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part includes all the bases required for hydraulic modelling, and the calculations and analysis of hydraulic conditions, while the practical part involves the actual conditions present in the Šmartno ob Paki water supply system. The water supply system along with most data was already available in digital format ( Geographic Information System ). Initially, the data were processed in ArcView and subsequently, by way of the DC Water Design Extension interface software, transferred to Epanet where we established the final hydraulic model, calculated the hydraulics and analysed the results i.e. system pressure and flow conditions. Following the hydraulic analysis, we reviewed the main problems in the operation of the water supply system and outlined potentially viable solutions. We subsequently identified the most acceptable option from the engineering and economic point of view, for which we also developed a hydraulic model and analysed the results obtained. In the course of the Graduation Project it also has been established that the operation of the Šmartno ob Paki water supply system, with its numerous branches and complexity of design, does not entirely comply with applicable regulations and standards. It follows that much remains to be done on the system in the future.
