Secondary abstract: |
In our everyday life we are faced with the internet and various web pages that are created on a particular topic. Construction of these can be addressed in different ways. One of them is the usage of wiki portals.
Wiki is a collection of web pages, whose content is simple to create and modify, we only need a web browser and an internet connection. If we want to start our own wiki, we need a software called wiki engine.
In this thesis we treat wiki as a system of websites, which enables wiki users easy usage and changing the contents. In the first part we present the history and technology, which is typical for wiki. We take a look at the examples of wikis in education and approaches to their effective use.
In the second part we present wiki engines that can launch wiki and their properties. Focus is given on five wiki engines, which are written in the PHP programming language, we present their installation and working with them. A comparison and compatibility are made among wikis.
In order to establish wiki we can use also Wikispaces website, which offers web space without any need to install wiki engine and no special computer knowledge. |

Abstract (ePrints): |
