Secondary title: Differences in adaptation to water between school and pre-school children
Secondary abstract: With this research we wanted to determine whether there are differences in speed in adaptation to water during school and pre-school children and the influence of fear in adapting to water. The sample included 30 children, 15 children of 3. class of elementary school of Tone Pavček, aged 8-9 years, who were attending swimming lessons in Spa Šmarješke, and 15 children from kindergarten Pedenjped, unit Videk, aged 5-6 years, who were attending swimming lessons in elementary school Grm. Kids were estimated before and after the 10-hour swimming lessons. We used a scale that has been composed of two parts. In first part we evaluated the fear of water, and second part adaptation to it. Adapted to water was measured using an evaluation sheet that has been constructed for the purpose of determining progress swimming ability of children to swimming classes ABC Sports Association (Škrl and other swimming teachers employed by ABC Sports Association). Evaluation sheet is divided into head diving, watching under water, breathing, buoyancy and glide. To determine the fear of water was used adapted Beck's rating scale of anxiety (Beck Anxiety), which was adjusted by Urša Marc (2011). The data was processed using SPSS (Statistical Package for The Social Sciences). They are displayed using tables and graphs. The results showed that over the swimming lessons the children progressed in all areas of adaptation to water, and in dealing with fear to water. At the end od swimming lessons school childrens achieve better results in all areas of adaptation to water, but the t-test showed a statistically significant difference only in the areas of exhalation into the water and the buoyancy. In dealing with fear to water both groups achieve the same results.

Podatke smo obdelali s statističnim paketom SPSS (Statistical Package for The Social Sciences). Prikazani so s pomočjo tabel in grafov.
