Family literacy in kindergarden |
Secondary abstract: |
Literacy plays an important part in the development of a person, his or her abilities and it accompanies us throughout the entire life. As the environment, education and the children’s own activity are very important for their development, it is significant to help and guide the children on their way, which is the role of the educators, teachers and parents. It is important for the children to know that we stand by their side, we support, help and guide them all while spending time with them. The family influences the development of the speech as it gives the child its first speech patterns, it accompanies the child through its growing and learns together with the child. I have chosen the project of family reading as a demonstration of one of the activities lead by the educator in the kindergarten. The educator here organizes the activity, gives advice and helps the parents but it is the parents who have to execute the activity with their children.
The empirical part presents the project The Fairy Suitcase of Mury the Cat, an example or developing family reading, which I have carried out during the school year in the kindergarten with the group of children aged 1 to 3. This part also presents the results of the questioner which was given to the parents at the beginning as well as at the end of the project thus enabling to monitor the changes in the family reading and literacy. |

Abstract (ePrints): |
