Secondary abstract: The main purpose of this thesis was to investigate physical activity among adults with intellectual disabilities in the social - welfare institutions and in the home environment, in upper. The study included eight professionals and 30 parents / guardians. Data were obtained from questionnaires that I have collected in three health institutions in upper, information from parents, I gained over the institutions and personal contact. We found that persons with intellectual disabilities are most commonly involved in hiking, mountaineering. The main motivation to engage in sports activities have to be through sports can socialize with friends, peers, and because sport is good for health. Most persons with intellectual is engaged in sports activity 1-2x a week, a major cause of physical inactivity is a lack of motivation, lack of interest in persons with intellectual disabilities. I found that persons with intellectual disabilities often participate in various sports activities organized by sport clubs and associations. Sports activities for persons with intellectual disabilities, which are included in the facilities implemented by individuals with different areas of expertise. The most common activities are carried out (on the pitch, in-kind), and sports facilities around the institution. Practitioners in institutions believe that in sports persons with intellectual disabilities properly taken care of, according to the options you have.

Abstract (ePrints): Osnovni namen diplomskega dela je bil raziskati športno aktivnost odraslih oseb z motnjami v duševnem razvoju (v nadaljevanju OMDR) v socialno-varstvenih zavodih na Gorenjskem in v njihovem domačem okolju. V raziskavo je bilo vključenih 8 strokovnih delavcev in 30 staršev/skrbnikov. Podatki so bili pridobljeni z vprašalnikoma, ki sem jih zbirala v treh socialno-varstvenih zavodih na Gorenjskem, podatke od staršev pa sem pridobila preko ustanov in osebnega kontakta. Ugotovili smo, da se OMDR najpogosteje ukvarjajo s pohodi, planinarjenjem. Glavna motiva za ukvarjanje s športno aktivnostjo sta, da se preko športne aktivnosti lahko družijo s prijatelji, vrstniki ter ker šport koristi zdravju. Največ OMDR se ukvarja s športno aktivnostjo 1-2x tedensko, glavni vzrok gibalne neaktivnosti je nemotiviranost, nezainteresiranost OMDR. Ugotovila sem, da se OMDR pogosto vključujejo v različne športne aktivnosti, ki jih organizirajo športna društva in zveze. Športne aktivnosti za OMDR, ki so vključene v ustanove izvajajo posamezniki z različnih strokovnih področij. Najpogosteje se aktivnosti izvajajo zunaj (na igrišču, v naravi) ter v športnih objektih v okolici ustanove. Strokovni delavci v ustanovah menijo, da je na področju športnih aktivnosti OMDR ustrezno poskrbljeno, glede na možnosti, ki jih imajo.
