How does the absence of the father affect on a child? |
Secondary abstract: |
Due to various social changes nowadays, sadly more and more children live and grow up in so called »imperfect« families, where the figure of the absent father has been present for quite some time. This is a phenomenon of absence which among other things also involves the physical presence of the father in combination with his emotional absence (this means that an absent father is also one who is physically present in the life of the child). The theoretical part of my diploma paper is dedicated mostly to the father and his role in the family, the child’s natural need for a father figure throughout childhood and later in life and consequent problems faced by children and adults where this kind of father figure is present. The empirical part presents two analyses of a qualitative research containing two interviews, with a man and a woman, who have grown up without the presence of the father. As already pointed out in the first part, the father is an important factor in the shaping of the child’s personality, self-image, sexual role, relationships with the outer world, cognitive abilities etc. I can claim with certainty that the father figure may be one of the protective factors in the development and life of the child. |

Abstract (ePrints): |
Dandanes zaradi različnih družbenih sprememb na žalost, vse več otrok živi in odrašča v t. i. |
